The foundation

The mixxt GmbH was founded by Christian Stein, Daniel Peters, Oliver Ueberholz and Philipp Ellenbeck and is headquartered in Bonn.

mixxt arose from the idea to give everyone the opportunity of creating an own Online Community. Many people already knew Communities and Social Networks. But an own Social Network for the circle of friends, the colleagues or the sports club, free of charge and created in just a few minutes - that was pretty new!

Supported by several prominent investors, the four founders launched their Community kit in October 2007. Since then, users from the public, business or private sector have created thousands of Communities for selected topics. Continuous evolution of the system, strengthening of the team and individual customisation of the software according to our users' and customers' needs - we are more than happy with the result of two succesful years.

Our claim from the outset was – and still is – that setting up your own Social Network with mixxt is as easy as handling an email-client or shopping on the Internet. Above all, no technical background knowledge is needed. And that goes down well, even outside of Germany. Whether for lager enterprises, for event hosts or private individuals – mixxt connects people, countries and content!
